Q: O Shaikh, Barakallahu feekum. There is a man in the city who used to be an Imam of a hizbee masjid. He just recently came to Salafiyyah. The general people said that he made tawbah. Now he is an Imam of a Salafi Masjid and he is being invited to give talks throughout the country. Is this correct for him to be speaking after leaving hizbiyyah recently? Ya Shaikh,
please advise us.
A: If he had innovations then he is to repent from these innovations before he gives lectures; and it maybe that there isn't anyone more knowledgeable than him in that area and that is why he is pushed forward. But he must repent from his innovations if he has had any. If not, then there is no harm in him lecturing and teaching the people that which is correct.
